Artist's Comments

Named after the star Deneb, found in the Delphinus constellation. Deneb means "tail of the dolphin".

I drew the original concept back in 1997, but it was destroyed/lost over five years ago. I was flipping through some of my older tribal dolphins, and remembered this design and revamped it. I worked on it in two major sessions, so I finished it in two days. I have gotten very mixed feedback on this piece from several people.

Just in case anyone is confused, this animal has no dorsal fin, but sports 4 pairs of fins. The "spheres" around this creature are bubbles and not meant to be perfectly circular.

Quite possibly one of my favorite works from you =) This style works very well, especially like how you changed from white to black spheres and kept a nice balance of black and white. Beautious!

I also enjoy the change from black to white to black with the bubbles. This piece is awesome and the dolphin makes me think of an oil spill. The spill could have painted the dolphin with a tribal tattoo and given it more fins... I love your tattoos! Draw me a bull so I can get one on my arm! :3

This one is very unique, not like the others, it has more artistic design rather than depiction such as the pattern of dots. Very nice!

not too many elements, it`s clear and you can feel the balance. I also like those spheres - good idea... and I think they shouldn`t be "perfectly circ.", it looks better as it is
nice.

I think this is one of my top 3 pieces from you. It has an excellent balance to it, almost like yin and yang. The designs on the dolphin are also very evocative of water. Excellent!

Thanks. Oil spill? That's a new idea, interesting take. :) Glad you like my tattoos, certainly makes my day to get a comment like this.

I have about 5-6 tattoos I want to work on that I haven't started yet, but perhaps later I'll entertain the idea of drawing a bull.
